MOTORISTS are being warned that major motorways around Glasgow will be 'heavier than normal' ahead of two big gigs this weekend.

Primal Scream will be performing at Queens Park on Friday, July 1 and Saturday, July 2 and Traffic Scotland is advising road users to consider other means of transport.

They are warning drivers that the M8, M77, M74 and M80 motorways will be much busier on those days.

The increase in people travelling to, from and around Glasgow for concerts could be even greater on Friday as Red Hot Chili Peppers are also performing in the city.

The American rockers will play at Bellahouston Park.
