UPDATE: Police provide statement on ongoing Maryhill Bilsland Drive incident

A section of a Glasgow road has closed due to an ongoing police incident.

Bilsland Drive at Maryhill Road has been locked down by officers according to Glasgow City Council's roads department.

Road users should avoid the area if possible.

Our reporter at the scene has revealed that police have been doing door-to-door enquiries following the incident. Cops were spotted entering a local business to ask questions.

The force also seemed to have sealed off an area at the bridge. An officer stands guards at the bridge with a sign, 'police slow' in place. Their marked vehicle is blocking assess to the route.

Meanwhile, another officer stands guard and has a car blocking motorists' access at the Maryhill Road entrance to the street.
