Scottish TV star Gail Porter has taken on a new 'job' as a train announcer at Glasgow Central station.

The 51-year-old shared a video of herself announcing the arrival of a Glasgow train at the city centre commuter hub.

She joked it was her "new job".

In the video, Gail can be seen standing next to a member of staff.

She then says: "Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen, we are now arriving in Glasgow Central.

"Please make sure you take all your personal belongings with you and have a blinking lovely day...and a weekend, and everyday, and welcome to Glasgow."

The video showing her perform the special job delighted fans with thousands watching and commenting.

One said: "I could listen to you read the phone book."

Another added: "That's brilliant bet you loved doing that and bet the passengers loved it as well."

At the height of her fame in the nineties, the bubbly star fronted one of the UK’s biggest TV shows Top of the Pops, became a lads mag favourite with FHM beaming a nude photograph of the star onto the Houses of Parliament and married a rock star, Toploader guitarist Dan Hipgrave.

In 2020, she released a documentary Being Gail Porter on the BBC where she discussed her mental health battles.
