A serious road crash in Renfrew left a motorcyclist in need of urgent medical attention today.
At around 8:35 am, the male rider was travelling North Bransford Road, between St James Interchange and Walkinshaw Road, Inchinnan.
His black Yamaha bike then left the road, colliding with the perimeter fencing of Glasgow Airport.
The 35-year-old rider was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow where he remains now.
His condition has been described as 'serious but stable'.
No other vehicles were involved in the incident, however, the road remained closed until around 12:55 pm.
Police are now appealing for witnesses to help them understand the circumstances of the crash.
Road Policing Sergeant Ryan McAuley said: “I am keen to hear from anyone who was in the area who saw what happened but who has not yet been spoken to by police.
"If anyone has dash-cam footage that they believe may assist our enquiry, I would urge them to get in touch with police via 101.
"Please quote reference number 0535 of Tuesday, July 5, 2022 when calling.”
