KIND-HEARTED pub staff are making free packed lunches for children to help those in need.

The Butty Bar in Drumchapel will be giving away 30 bags each week to help local families in the Drumchapel area who may be struggling to provide their children with meals over the summer holidays.

An announcement shared on social media read: "We are going to be giving away free 30 kids nursery/school children packed lunch bags every week for anyone struggling to take their kids out during the summer holidays.

"If this would help cut down any cost to you taking the kids please contact to book. We will have them ready for the next morning for you to collect.

"If you have more than one small child that is absolutely fine just let us know how many and what ages they are. Information will be kept private."

The pub team began their plight on Monday and say that they will operate on a first-come, first-served basis.
