A GLASGOW restaurant has officially been presented with a Michelin star.

It was first announced that Unalome in Finnieston won the prestigious award in February, making it the second in the city to win.

While a number of restaurants are on the Michelin Guide, only Unalome and Cail Bruich have the star in Glasgow.

Chef Graeme Cheevers has been lauded for his 'boldness and sophistication' in cooking, and Michelin has said it is worth a visit for the full tasting menu and the 'thoughtfully considered' wine pairings.

Now the shiny red Michelin plaque has been installed at the West End restaurant and the team took to social media to celebrate the achievement.

A post read: "We’ve waited three thousand, one hundred and ninety-two hours for this incredible accolade and it was worth every moment!

"This amazing accolade was installed today and now proudly greets each guest as they arrive, taking pride of place at our beautiful entrance.

"The MICHELIN guide (official) red plaque not only symbolises hard work, dedication and attention to detail, it also acknowledges the consistent quality we pride ourselves on here at UNALOME by Graeme Cheevers.

"We couldn’t be more proud to see this plaque in situ for all to see. Thank you MICHELIN guide (official)."

Unalome first opened in June 2021 and uses influences from mainly European dishes with a flavour of Japan.

The team also prides itself on running a sustainable restaurant, with 100% green sources, an Evogro plant growing system, an enzyme-based cleaning products and water-saving toilets.
