GLASGOW cinemas have decided to host special screenings of the new Minions film for 'Gentleminions' after a viral Tik Tok trend swept the country. 

Teens have been showing up to screenings of Minions: The Rise of Gru dressed in fancy suits posing as 'Gentleminions' all over the UK since the film was released on July 1.

We previously reported that cinemas had decided to ban the groups of youngsters from the film after causing rowdy behaviour and affecting the viewing pleasure of families with young children.

However, Vue Cinemas have now announced that they are putting on screenings of the film for the Gentleminions to enjoy. 

Their website reads: "We’re putting on special Gentleminion screenings of Minions: The Rise of Gru where you can enjoy the full experience of being a Gentleminion."

People are advised to be aware that the Gentleminion screenings can expect 'crowd participation', so those wanting to watch the movie in peace should attend a regular showing.

Teens have been cheering and clapping loudly for main character Gru, who is said to be the inspiration for the trend and even taking bananas into theatres as an ode to the Minions' favourite food. 

The post added: "So suit up. Bring your friends. Be Gentleminionly. Everyone is welcome, whether you’re 14 or 44, Minion or human, but please note that these sessions may include crowd participation and general, obvious levels of enjoyment."

There are Gentleminions showings of Minions: The Rise of Gru at Vue in St Enoch and Glasgow Fort this weekend.
