NHS Lanarkshire has asked members of the public to familiarise themselves with upcoming changes to services as they near the end of a spring booster programme.

In preparation for a lull in visitors over the summer holiday season, alterations have been made to opening days and hours at a number of local sites.

NHS Lanarkshire has advised that these are temporary changes and that regular services will resume ahead of autumn and winter vaccination programmes.

Lynsey Sutherland, interim general manager of the Lanarkshire vaccination programme, said:  “We have taken the decision to alternate the days and opening times of our local sites during the summer months as we expect there to be a quieter period as people take their summer holidays.

“As the programme reduces in intensity over the summer months, we are using that time to seek out individuals who as yet have not accessed the vaccine but now want to take the opportunity to be vaccinated.

“We are also using this quieter period to allow our vaccination staff to support other areas of NHS Lanarkshire given the ongoing pressures being experienced across the wider NHS.

"Our website will be updated weekly with all the necessary information on what sites are open when and we urging anyone who still requires any doses of the vaccine including the spring booster to either book an appointment."
