Warming up the stage for the star - whose real name is Elliot Gleave - his DJ beamed: “Some people know him as the major of Glasgow. We know him as Example.”

The rapper, 40, then launched into the Laidback Luke collaboration Natural Disaster before announcing, “Glasgow’s it’s good to be home.

“We are here for one thing today and that’s to jump about like f**king lunatics.”

He added: “I f**king love this city. I’ve been coming to Glasgow since 2006 and you always show me love.”

And the fans responded in typical Glasgow fashion with, “Here we f**king go.”
