A WOMAN has been rushed to hospital following a serious assault at a Tesco in Rutherglen.
Emergency services were called to the supermarket on Dalmarnock Road at around 1.30pm today following reports of the assault.
A 25-year-old woman was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment following the incident.
Her condition is not currently known.
Officers confirmed a 34-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers were called to a serious assault at a premises on Dalmarnock Road, Rutherglen at around 1.30pm on Saturday, July 9, 2022.
"A 25-year-old woman was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.
"A 34-year-old man has been arrested in connection."
