Geordie rock trio Maxïmo Park received one of the biggest crowds at the King Tuts stage as thousands of fans packed in to get a glimpse of their performance.
And they used that platform to gauge the audience's thoughts on the Conservative government.
Frontman Paul Smith teased the crowd eager to see the festival favourites with a simple, “Anyone here a fan of the conservative government?”
As the crowd chanted, “f**k the Tories,’ he sarcastically replied with a smile, “you do surprise me,” before launching into The National Health.

Earlier, he opened up the set with the 2007 single Girls Who Play Guitars.
While new release Great Art offered another opportunity for the band - also including guitarist Duncan Lloyd and drummer Tom English - to have a dig at the Conservatives.
Smith then screamed, “Are you ready to rock?” before belting out the anthem Our Velocity.
Throughout the set, he chatted to the fans offering detail on the songs in their impressive back-catalogue which stretches back more than 20 years.
Books from Boxes and Versions of You rounded the set off before the sublime Apply Some Pressure with its unmistakable beat.
Smith then screamed: “We love Scotland and we will be back in the Barrowlands in October.”
