Glasgow Green had almost been returned to normality this morning just hours after the closing performance of this year’s TRNSMT Festival.

After three days of festivities which saw close to 50,000 music fans gather at the city centre space, event staff moved quickly to start a clean-up operation shortly after an 11 pm curfew.

Not even a stray paper cup could be seen on the site by 10 am today suggesting that the team worked through the night to return the Green to its former state.

The only remaining indicators of the event were a small number of portaloos, fencing and staging which had yet to be transported from the site.

This year’s TRNSMT was a roaring success with headliners Paolo Nutini, Sam Fender and Lewis Capaldi wowing sold-out crowds.

There’s good news for anyone who is already pining for the weekend as TRNSMT bosses have this afternoon announced the dates for next year's event as July 7 to 9, 2023.
