DRIVERS caught glimpse of a bizarre sighting on the Kingston Bridge this afternoon.
While not the usual mode of transport seen on the M8, a boat was spotted lying at the side of the road on the bridge.
An eyewitness told the Glasgow Times that they first became aware of the unusual episode when the cars had to quickly swerve out of the lane.
They said: “The traffic was suddenly slowing down and drivers were swerving out of the lane so I could see there was an issue up ahead but the last thing I expected was a boat in the way.
“There were no police there when I drove past - it was just a little boat sitting wedged up against the barrier.
“It’s obviously come off the back of someone’s car but how do you keep driving knowing you’ve left your boat behind?”
Another photo shows a police car later parked at the scene.
Police Scotland confirmed that a boat had come off its trailer
Officers are in attendance and one lane is blocked.
No further information was given.
