COMEDIAN Alan Carr has given fans an update after he collapsed on stage in Glasgow.

The 46-year-old was performing at the King's Theatre on his Regional Trinket tour on Sunday evening when he fell on stage.

Now he has taken to social media to explain what happened to reassure fans that he will be okay.

He said in a video post: "I’ve been performing up in Glasgow and there’s a bit in my routine where I pretend to be Jason Statham.

“I high-kicked then I got the worst cramp ever.

“Oh my God! It was shooting pains and I was rolling around on the floor, and people thought it was part of the act.”

He explained that he managed to finish the show after his manager slipped him a crutch and has since taken ibuprofen.

Carr later posted a photo of himself on stage holding the crutch and told fans he had torn his calf.

He said: "It's still sore and I'm still limping but it could have been a lot worse. Phew!"

Friends and fans shared their sympathies and well wishes for the Chatty Man, including Vanessa Feltz who commented: "Phew! Speedy recovery."

Comedian Kevin Bridges added: "What a legend."
