Hundreds of Still Game fans lined the streets early this morning to meet three of the show’s stars.
Series creators Ford Kiernan and Greg Hemphill visited the Crown Street Co-op to take a turn behind the tills and meet fans in celebration of their popular Jack and Victor Blended Scotch Whisky and Still Gin.
The shop is one of 65 locations across Scotland that will now stock the drinks named after Still Game's main characters, Jack Jarvis and Victor McDade, who are played by Kiernan and Hemphill.

Accompanying them at the event was the magnificent Captain Dandy, a racehorse that famously had a run-in with character Winston Ingram in series five of the show.
Kiernan joked: “He’s safe today, although there’s a glue factory over there that we’ll have to keep him away from.”

The Jack and Victor Whisky was a sell-out success when launched last year thanks to a creative advertising campaign that saw images of the bottle projected onto Glasgow landmarks including the People’s Palace and Kelvingrove Museum.
Expanding their range further this year the pair released 'a the Still Gin' saying: “Ye asked for something 'filtered through the heather' and here she is”.
Speaking of their inspiration Kiernan Said: “We had been talking about making the whisky for a few years and when the opportunity came up we thought ‘why not?’.
“The idea was that the fans could have a dram alongside the show as they were watching it.
“The fans have been great, we had another signing event recently and the uptake on the internet was huge.
“We were very happy with it.”
Hemphill added: “We wanted something that would represent the show as well.
“Jack and Victor love to sit in the pub with their friends and family and have a dram.
“We went through a rigorous tasting process which was a lot of fun”.
A triumphant introduction to the world of whisky has created a whole new legacy for two of Scottish TV’s favourite characters, with fans of the show eager to get their hands on a signed bottle at today’s event.
Although the comedy duo are fully invested in their new venture, it seems we may not have seen the last of the Craiglang crew on our screens.
Hemphill said: “Never say never. We had a great time with the BBC two times around then we had three sets of shows at the hydro.
“We have a great time doing them.”
