TWO primary schools have been targeted by vandals with cops now investigating incidents at three schools in the area.

We previously reported that thugs had torn apart wooden huts in the playground of St Elizabeth's Primary School in Hamilton.

This is estimated to have occurred at some time between July 7 and 14.

Officers investigating the vandalism have now received two more reports from other schools in the South Lanarkshire area.

Between July 11 and 13, numerous items within the playground of High Blantyre Primary School were damaged.

Then on July 15, a fire was deliberately started in the playground of Cathkin Primary School in Rutherglen.

Fire crews were forced to break open the gates to get into the school grounds and tackle the blaze. 

Anyone with any information about the High Blantyre School incident is advised to contact 101 quoting incident number 0814 of July 13, 2022.

Similarly, those with information about the Cathkin Primary should contact 101 quoting incident number 0552 of July 16, 2022.
