A CITY centre restaurant has been crowned the winner of the second episode of Come Dine With Me: The Professionals to take place in Glasgow.

In the latest episode, which aired today on Channel 4, Bath Street restaurant Bloc+ competed against Amore d'Italia in Dennistoun and Maki and Ramen, also based on Bath Street, to take home the £1000 prize money and the coveted Come Dine With Me trophy.

Bloc+'s head chef Andy Neilson and hostess Pixie Brady wowed guests with a menu of plant-based wings made using jack fruit, a ramen noodle hot dog and deep-fried sticky toffee pudding.

Speaking to the Glasgow Times ahead of the episode, Andy said: "It was an amazing experience and I would love to do something like that again because when I first came back to work after it I was like 'this is boring, I want to be sitting doing telly stuff' because it was really fun.

"Stressful but really really really fun, I definitely enjoyed it."
