A MAN spat at a McDonald's manager after an issue with paying for his meal.

Alexander Cameron was getting his dinner in the Maryhill Road branch of the fast food chain when he kicked off.

The 26-year-old thought he had paid but the manager informed him no payment had been made for his food.

Glasgow Sheriff Court heard the incident took place around 6.30pm on August 12, 2020.

Depute fiscal Brogan Moffat told the court last week how Cameron became outraged and said he would not pay because he believed payment had already been taken.

He began shouting and called the manager a “f**king fat cow” and a “c**t”.

Cameron, from Kirkintilloch, was asked to leave but edged closer to the counter and spat on the plastic protective screen before fleeing the scene.

Cops were called out and they searched the area but did not find him at that point.

His defence lawyer said his client "regrets his actions" and told the court he "doesn't have his troubles to seek".

The solicitor said Cameron had been diagnosed with ADHD but has not had any "assistance in the management of this".

Sheriff Allan Findlay asked Cameron if he would be willing to do some unpaid work for the benefit of the community, to which he said "yes".

He was sentenced to 130 hours of unpaid work, reduced from 150 hours thanks to an early guilty plea.

Sheriff Findlay added: "People don't go to their work to get spat on, do you understand?"
