More than 130 new jobs were created in a West Dunbartonshire factory.
Drinks manufacturer Chivas Brothers announced the boost earlier this month.
The company is hiring 136 workers in the Dumbarton facility, in hopes to strengthen their supply chain.
Councillor Craig Edward, Convener of the Council’s Housing and Communities committee, said: “Chivas Brothers has had a longstanding presence in West Dunbartonshire and I welcome the news that they are continuing to invest in our area.
“These permanent posts mean our residents have increased job opportunities, as well as demonstrating to other multi-national organisations that West Dunbartonshire is an ideal setting for business.
“As a Council we are committed to providing more opportunities for jobs and training to our residents, and we want to work closely with local businesses to ensure continued economic growth in our area.”

Councillor John Millar, Vice Convener for Housing and communities, added: “Our pledge to create 2000 jobs in West Dunbartonshire over the course of our term is one of our top priorities, and it is so pleasing to see that such a large employer is expanding in our area.
“New and permanent roles are in such high demand, especially during this ongoing cost of living crisis. I would encourage anyone who is considering applying for the positions and requires some help to make use of the support offered by our Working4U service.”

Liam Donegan, Manufacturing Director at Chivas Brothers, said: “Dumbarton is at the heart of our Chivas Brothers operations and I’m delighted to announce this significant investment in our site and our people.
“These permanent roles will really bolster our manufacturing capabilities and ensure that Kilmalid remains a world-class bottling facility to support the future of Scotch.”
The bottling plant has been in the area for 80 years.
