A WOMAN has been left "shaken" following a theft at a shop in Maryhill while she was working alone. 

According to a post on Facebook page No1seems2care, the woman was working at a shop on Maryhill Road on the afternoon of Friday, July 22 when a man walked in and asked for change of a £5 note. 

She told the man she didn't have the change and he left.

However, he reportedly returned to the shop a short time later and the woman found him taking cash from the till. 

She screamed, causing the man to flee the scene.

The woman has been left "shaken" and is no longer able to work in the shop alone following the theft, which it is claimed is one of a number of similar incidents in the area recently. 

Police confirmed they received a report of the theft at around 2.50pm on Friday, July 22 and an investigation is underway. 

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 2.50pm on Friday, 22 July, police received a report of a theft from a shop on Maryhill Road, Glasgow.

"Enquiries are ongoing."
