A new fitness startup is opening up in Glasgow's East End today.

Factory Weights is welcoming clients for the first time today at their 90 Camlachie Street, across from the Forge Retail Park.

They are a new retail store who specialise in supplying gym equipment.

Around 40,000 sq ft, the new headquarters has and indoor and outdoor space and welcomes both trade and consumer customers.

Bosses are hoping to engage the community by being open seven days a week and create a local hub through free events.

They also plan to provide access and equipment to local secondary schools, for free.

Tom Russel, co-founder of Factory Weights, said: “We launched our business after seeing the demand for good quality gym equipment surge throughout the pandemic. But now we can see from our sales that the trend for training and fitness is only increasing with sales up 44% this year.

"At our new headquarters, we will have a team of fitness experts that can advise on the sports equipment that would be best for each individual customer, and we can allow them to physically try out the equipment before they buy.

"Something that other retailers currently can’t offer due to lack of space and physical stock. Our new showroom will allow us to bring our online offering to life and give our customers an experiential shopping experience creating a real hub for the local community and beyond.”
