UPDATE: At 7:20 pm a Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "SFRS responded to a reported building fire at the DoubleTree by Hilton hotel in Glasgow at 6:55 pm this evening following a 999 call.
"Five appliances were mobilised at the time of the call.
"Crews remain on the scene now."
A city centre hotel has been evacuated this evening with emergency services on the scene.
Large crowds have gathered outside the DoubleTree by Hilton on Cambridge Street as fire crews deal with an incident.
A witness has said that around four fire service vehicles are in attendance.
The nature of the incident is not yet clear.
