A woman has been knocked down in the city's West End.

The woman - whose age and condition is unknown - was hit by a car on Hyndland Street in Partick at lunchtime.

She was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital while officers carried out an investigation at the scene. 

999 crews were spotted on the West End road which was closed off for around an hour at Dumbarton Road junction. 

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers were called around 12.05pm to a report of a pedestrian being hit by a car on Hyndland Street, Glasgow on Thursday 4 August 22.

"The woman has been taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital."
