A TEEN was hospitalised after being attacked in an underpass in broad daylight.
A 16-year-old male was taken to University Hospital Hairmyres after emergency crews rushed to the scene shortly after 5pm on Monday evening.
The attack happened near the Centre Roundabout shopping centre in East Kilbride.
Now officers are investigating the assault and are urging any witnesses or anyone with any information to contact them.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 5.20pm on Monday, August 8, 2022, officers were called to a report of an assault in the underpass near the Centre Roundabout, East Kilbride.
"A 16-year-old male youth was taken to University Hospital Hairmyres for treatment and later released.
"Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and anyone who saw what happened or who has information about the assault should contact police on 101 quoting reference 2681 of Monday, August 8, 2022."
