A BMW driver is wanted after a person was injured in a hit and run. 

The car collided with the cyclist on Bothwell Road at the junction with Caird Steet in Hamilton, at around 11am on Saturday, August 6.

The white BMW, believed to be a 1 Series or 3 Series, fled the scene. 

The 40-year-old cyclist was treated for minor injuries, and now officers are trying to track down the driver. 

Constable James Livingstone, from Blantyre Community Policing Team, said: “We are asking for anyone who was in the area around the time of the crash, or anyone with information on the vehicle involved, to please get in touch.

“Any information could prove useful to our investigation.

“Please call police on 101, quoting incident 1282 of August 6. Alternatively, you can contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, if you wish to remain anonymous.”
