A MAN who stored £250,000 of drugs at a flat returned there as police carried out a raid.

Francis McGinley was held after officers swooped at the property in Earl Street, Scotstoun in Glasgow on October 1 2019.

Prosecutor Bill McVicar told how a haul of heroin was found in one cupboard with cocaine in another.

Mr McVicar said: "Francis McGinley entered while the search was being undertaken."

DNA and fingerprint evidence linked McGinley, now of the city's Yoker, to the illegal consignments.

The High Court in Glasgow today heard how the heroin and cocaine had a potential value "in excess of £250,000".

Mr McVicar: "He was storing the drugs for others and the Crown does not dispute that."

Tony Lenehan, defending, had asked for McGinley to remain on bail pending sentencing.
