THE crowd at a music festival headlined by Lewis Capaldi went wild as the singer posed for a BeReal on a fan's phone on stage.

BeReal is a French social media application, which encourages users to share a photo of themselves and their immediate surroundings given a randomly selected two-minute window every day, in an effort to promote authenticity on social media.

One Lewis Capaldi fan got what could be the best BeReal of all time, after the Someone You Loved singer picked up her phone to take a selfie during his set at Sziget Festival, only to realise it was set on the app.

The musician can be seen taking a selfie on the fan's phone with band mate Aidan Halliday on stage, in a viral TikTok video shared by LadBible.

Lewis can be heard saying: "Oh it's a, oh yes! Right this is Kerry's phone, it's a BeReal, it's a BeReal."

"Right, okay, I want you all to cheer, one, two three!"

Returning the phone to its owner, he said: "There you go Kerry, Kerry Katona! I'll send that back to you through the powers that be."

Hilariously, the singer questioned the authenticity of the shot, revealing he received the BeReal notification prompting users to take a selfie within a time window "a long time ago".

"It's a good BeReal that! Not to say though, I got the notification a long time ago, so not very real, not very real of Kerry to do that."

The video has so far received 5.7 million views on TikTok.

One TikTok user commented: "NOT HIM CALLING THE FAN OUT FOR BEING LATE!"

Another wrote: "I wanna see the bereal ngl."

A third said: "Imagine it’s one of those ones that doesn’t upload then says u gotta upload a late one lol."

The official BeReal TikTok account even butted in: "The 'that’s not real' at the end killed me."
