THE funeral of Pop Idol star Darius Campbell Danesh has taken place today.
The Bearsden-born singer, who went on to have a successful stage career after the show, was found dead in his flat in Rochester, Minnesota, on August 11 at age 41.
His cause of death is currently unknown.

Actor Omid Djalili confirmed on Twitter that Darius' funeral took place today in Bearsden.
He wrote: "Funeral today in Bearsden, Glasgow for Darius Campbell Danesh.
"Such a lovely talented man gone way too soon.
"People were always taken aback by how much of a true gentleman he was.
"God bless his soul.
"Rest in peace my brother."

He did not reveal any further details about the funeral.
