A man has been hospitalised after a large-scale fight in Glasgow.

Emergency services were called to Closeburn Street on Saturday afternoon after hearing reports of a large group of people fighting. 

An image on social media appears to show multiple police vehicles stationed at Hawthorn Street, near the incident, at the time. 

The man, aged 34, was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital to be treated for his injuries.

Officers confirmed that they are investigating the incident.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were made aware of a disturbance involving a large group of people fighting in the Closeburn Street area of Glasgow around 4.30pm on Saturday, September 24.

“A 34-year-old man has been taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
