A show telling the story of a true musical icon will hit the Glasgow stage tonight.

Ahead of the opening performance of The Cher Show at the King's Theatre, cast members gathered at Delmonicas Bar in Merchant City for a glitzy photo shoot.

The smash-hit musical charts Cher's "meteoric" rise to fame taking her from the shy daughter of an Armenian American truck driver to global superstar status.

Audience members will follow the star's career through the decades as she meets influential figures including Sonny Bono and fashion designer Bob Mackie.

The musical extravaganza features a huge 35 of the singer's best-loved tracks including if I Could Turn Back Time, I Got You Babe and Believe.

A talented cast is led by Debbie Kurup, Danielle Steers and Millie O’Connell who each portray Cher at different stages of her life.

The show was penned by Tony award-winning Rick Elice, whose previous work includes The Jersey Boys, with direction from Arlene Phillips and choreography from Strictly Come Dancing's Oti Mabuse.

The Cher Show will run until Saturday, October 1.
