The unsolved Glasgow murders carried out by the notorious Bible John are to be discussed in a new podcast.

The murders of Patricia Docker, Jemima Macdonald and Helen Puttock in the late 1960s resulted in one of the biggest manhunts in the history of the Scottish police and led to the creation of the infamous moniker.

But decades after Bible John apparently stopped killing, a new prime suspect was named by journalist Audrey Gillan in 1996.

Now Bible John - Creation of a Serial Killer, a ten-part series produced by BBC Scotland, will see Audrey delve into the case after scouring police files and discovering new information.

She also wishes to redefine outdated depictions of the victims and reveal their lives in a way that has not been done before, and in doing so, she uncovers another story about the case of Bible John.

Audrey said: “This case has haunted me for almost all of my life. I have always wanted to find out more about the three women - to get a sense of the streets they walked on, the clothes they wore and the songs they sang.

"But the Bible John investigation is like nothing else I have ever worked on, and making this podcast has thrown up a number of revelations.”

Bible John - Creation of a Serial Killer will be available on BBC Sounds from October 1.
