CITY cops have issued a warning about the use of fireworks following alleged antisocial behaviour in Pollokshields. 

Officers were called to Albert Drive at around 9.30pm last night following a report of antisocial behaviour involving fireworks. 

Following enquiries, a 16-year-old boy has been charged in connection with the incident.

Police are now urging parents and guardians to speak to their children about the dangers of fireworks and the consequences of antisocial behaviour. 

Anyone with information about firework misuse is also asked to contact police. 

Inspector Cennydd Smith, from Gorbals Police Station, said: "Around 9.30pm on Wednesday, September 28, police attended the Albert Drive area of Pollokshields, following a report of antisocial behaviour involving fireworks.

"Enquiries were carried out and a 16-year-old boy was charged in connection with the matter.

"A report will be submitted in due course.

"At this time, I’d also reach out to parents and guardians in the community, asking them to speak to their children about the dangers and consequences of getting involved in antisocial behaviour.

"We will continue to work with our partners to combat the antisocial use of fireworks.

"Anyone with information about fireworks misuse should contact Police Scotland on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
