Police named the man who died after being hit by a car in Paisley.

As the Glasgow Times reported yesterday, a 63-year-old pedestrian died on Brediland Road on Sunday morning, in a car crash.

A 26-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the alleged incident, but cops say they are continuing to investigate what happened.

Now, Police Scotland has named the man as Jim Paterson.

The force has confirmed that the area remains closed to pedestrians and vehicles while investigations are ongoing and the public is urged to use an alternative route.

They also urge anyone with information of footage of the collision to contact them.
