A hunt has been launched for three possible getaway cars after a mass brawl broke out between up to 18 people.

A group of men were gathered on Tinto View in Hamilton on Wednesday evening when a silver car pulled up and more men got out.

A disturbance then broke out and a 42-year-old man was rushed to hospital to be treated for injuries, before being released.

Cops are now investigating the incident, and it was reported that between 12 and 18 people were involved.

Detective Constable Cameron Owen said: "I would ask any motorists, particularly those with dash cams, who were in the area around 9pm to pass on any images captured as the footage could assist our investigation.

"We are continuing to check other relevant CCTV footage for additional information of those involved."

Their findings so far have established that three vehicles were seen speeding off after the rammy.

A silver-coloured hatchback or estate car, a white Transit van and another Hatchback vehicle all sped along Silverton Hill Avenue.

They appeared to be travelling in convoy, but it is not clear if all the people within them were involved in the disturbance.

Officers are continuing to scour CCTV and are urging any witnesses to come forward.

DC Owen added: "Just because they were not arrested on the night does not mean they have got away with it.

"If anyone has any information, no matter how insignificant it seems, please pass it on.

"Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 3251 of November 30, 2022.

"Alternatively, please call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where information can be given anonymously."
