A Glasgow company has left hundreds of people unemployed just weeks before Christmas.

Go-Centric, based on Renfield Street, let staff go on Thursday just hours after it is believed a refinancing deal fell through.

It is understood around 600 roles are affected.

First Bus accused of 'trying to increase profits' by Glasgow parents

Parents have accused First Bus of trying to increase their profits following the decision to remove the option of buying a child ticket from the mobile app.

The company confirmed that due to the increase in the use of the free travel scheme for under 22s, it’s no longer possible to purchase a child ticket online.

However, the option to buy a child ticket on any bus is still available.

But Glasgow City Parents Group has hit out at the recent move.

Glasgow couple book flight three times after ‘too much fun’ at bar

A Glasgow couple were forced to book a flight three times after having ‘too much fun’ at an airport bar.

Brooke Curran, 36, was supposed to be travelling to Amsterdam on Thursday with fiance Stephen Lynn to celebrate his 32nd birthday.

The pair had been enjoying a tipple at Glasgow Airport before experiencing the “most awkward moment ever” at the boarding gate.

Glasgow mum says she's 'a step closer to justice for Rhys Bonner'

A grieving mum says she’s a ‘step closer to justice for her son’ after a watchdog ordered Police Scotland to review how they handled a formal complaint against them. 

Brave Stephanie Bonner’s son Rhys, 19, was discovered lifeless in marshland between Easterhouse and Gartloch Village on August 8, 2019. 

His death certificate says the cause was 'unascertained' - with Stephanie claiming that she does not know exactly where his body was found. 

Police Scotland say the death was fully investigated and declared 'not suspicious', but the family have always claimed they were not satisfied with how their concerns were dealt with.
