CELINE Dion has postponed her upcoming Glasgow gigs after she was diagnosed with a "very rare" neurological disorder.

The My Heart Will Go On singer has rescheduled her upcoming Courage World Tour dates, which were due to take place next year, to 2024 after she was diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome (SPS).

The disorder is characterised by progressive muscle stiffness and repeated episodes of painful muscle spasms.

The Canadian star will now perform at the OVO Hydro on Saturday, April 13 and Sunday, April 14, 2024.

The shows had been due to take place on April 2 and 3 next year, after they were rescheduled from summer this year due to her health issues.

In a statement on Instagram, Celine said: "Hello everyone.

"I'm sorry it's taken me so long to reach out to you, I miss you also much and I can't wait to be on stage talking to you in person.

"As you know, I've always been an open book and I wasn't ready to say anything before but I'm ready now.

"I've been dealing with problems with my health for a long time, and it's been really difficult for me to face these challenges and to talk about everything that I've been going through."

She continued: "Recently, I've been diagnosed with a very rare neurological disorder called Stiff Person Syndrome (SPS) which affects something like one in a million people.

"While we're still learning about this rare condition, we now know this has what's been causing all of the spasms I've been having.

"Unfortunately these spams affect every aspect of my daily life, sometimes causing difficulties when I walk and not allowing me to use my vocal cords to sing the way I'm used to.

"It hurts me to tell you today this means I won't be ready to restart my tour in Europe in February."

Original tickets will remain valid for the new dates.
