Cops have taped off a pub after it was reportedly destroyed by vandals.

The Robert Hamilton, a former Wetherspoons pub in Airdrie which is permanently closed, has allegedly been targeted.

Reports on social media claim that the pub's doors have been "smashed in" while "smashed-up chairs are lying outside" and police tape has been put around the doors.

One resident claimed they saw a group of people causing damage to the building, saying they "destroyed the place".
