After learning of their success in mid-December, the Cambuslang-based youngsters are still over the moon.

Glasgow Times:

Amy McCabe, principal coach at Dance Elite Studio, said: "Our team of coaches are still taking the amazing news in, this is the first time we have put our girls forward for such a huge competition.

"This will be an amazing experience for them, we are all extremely proud of the hard work and determination they have all shown to qualify.

"To represent Team Scotland at a worldwide competition is a massive achievement."

The Dance World Cup features 120,000 competitors from 62 countries, and will run for a total of nine days.

The fabulous five will perform a variety of styles alongside the globe's best dancers including lyrical, jazz contemporary, hip hop and Acro.

Glasgow Times:

To accommodate for the costs of the event, including travel, accommodation and entry fees, the dancer's mums have organised a fundraising campaign, with the hope of raising around £5,000.

The group said: "This is a fantastic opportunity for our girls and a massive achievement, we are very proud mums this week.

"However, it will cost a small fortune and we are working hard to try and raise as much funds as possible to give our girls this experience to represent Scotland."

The team are also looking for the support of local businesses to sponsor their Team Scotland Tracksuits.

The business or businesses will have their logos featured on the tracksuits and flags, and will be promoted through social media and photo opportunities.

One business, Flawless Balustrades, have already become kit sponsors for the team.
