A GLASGOW college campus will remain closed for almost three weeks.

We previously reported Glasgow Clyde College's Anniesland campus was closed on Tuesday, January 10 in order to carry out "essential" repairs to the building.

It was expected to be closed for the remainder of the week.

However, following advice from professional building advisors, the campus will now remain closed until Monday, January 30 to allow necessary work to take place.

As a result of the closure, classes will take place remotely or in other locations.

Students will be contacted by teaching and support staff about arrangements for classes.

A statement shared on the college's Facebook page read: "Following advice from our professional building advisors we have taken the precautionary measure to keep the Anniesland campus of Glasgow Clyde College closed until January 30 to allow us to undertake the necessary works.

"Classes and learning will continue remotely or in other locations - and teaching and support staff will be in touch to advise alternative arrangements for classes for all students including full-time, part-time and evening.

"All support services will still be available to students at our other campuses and via telephone/email contact.

"We would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused however our students and staff are our number one priority.

"We will advise a further update in due course."
