A group of refugees in Glasgow enjoyed a 'magical' experience this week thanks to the Celtic FC Foundation.

Refuweegee, a charity that works tirelessly to ensure that all refugees arriving in in the city are well, took to social media yesterday to share heartwarming photos of families who were thrilled to attend Wednesday's Celtic vs St Mirren match after receiving a donation of tickets.

A member of the Refuweegee team captioned the post: "Last night was nothing short of magical.

"Thank you so much to @celticfcfoundation for gifting us with 32 tickets to last night's Celtic game v St Mirren.

"Here’s a wee snippet of last night's game and the smiles that a night at the football with friends and family can create.

"This was special in so many ways.

"For some, it was their first time stepping foot in a stadium, and for others, it was a night to rekindle their love for a sport that started back in their home country.

"We may have a Refuweegee Celtic Supporters Club on our hands."

The post has since received over four thousand likes with Instagram users praising the kind gesture.

One said: "I bet they had a great night, the Celtic family are a great bunch."

Another added: "This is lovely. The power of community and football."
