A GLASGOW MP is lacing up his running shoes for an East End charity.

Glasgow East MP David Linden will be running the London Marathon this April to raise funds for Geeza Break, which provides family support and flexible respite services to parents.

The 32-year-old, who is the only Glasgow MP to have run the London Marathon, is asking people to sponsor his 26.2 mile run to raise as much cash as possible for the charity.

Speaking at the launch of his fundraiser, David said: "Although I’m determined to get a personal best in this year’s London Marathon, my main aim is raising as much money as possible.

"I know it’ll be tough but I’m up for the challenge of running 26.2 miles because it's for an amazing cause that goes the extra mile every day.

"Geeza Break is a remarkable East End charity which provides support and respite to families who require it for a whole variety of reasons.

"In 2022, the charity celebrated 30 years of serving local families - many of whom I've met personally and many of whom I've referred to the service in my capacity as local MP.

"Having referred to Geeza Break, worked with their staff and visited things like the TOFFEE Club, I cannot sing their praises highly enough.

"I know money is tight for lots of people at the minute, but if you can afford to donate anything at all to this very worthy cause then please dig deep."
