SCOTTISH Water is calling on public opinion to have their say on the future of a local park.

The company is inviting residents of Busby Glen in East Renfrewshire to give their views on enhancements for Busby Glen Park following major works in the area.

The park was previously closed due to improvements on the water network and environment of local watercourses and eventually reopened last autumn.

Now, Scottish Water has today launched a survey to find out what locals would like to see added to the popular spot after the company created a £50,000 fund to enhance the facilities in the area.

Glasgow Times:

Georgina Reid, Scottish Water’s corporate affairs manager in the west region, said: "We’ve made this fund available in recognition of the closure of Busby Glen Park during what was a difficult time for all.

"We sincerely apologise that people weren’t able to use this precious space for so long and we hope this fund will make it an even better place for the whole community to enjoy in the future.

"It’s important that we find out from the users of the park what they would like to see the money spent on to improve it.

"Unfortunately, this fund can’t fulfil an endless wish list but it’s important that the community have the chance to give their views.

"For that reason, we’ve drawn up a short list of possible options which people may wish to consider, but they can also come up with their own ideas while being aware of the limit."

All up-and-coming improvements will be carried out by East Renfrewshire Council.

The survey will be live for four weeks until February 21.
