Update: Traffic Scotland has now said that delays are easing on both the M8 and A737

Police have provided an update following an early morning crash which caused traffic chaos on the M8.

Earlier today we reported that a collision at junction 27 of the motorway was causing delays of around half an hour close to Glasgow Airport.

Cops have now confirmed the crash involved four vehicles with officers called to assist at around 6.20am.

Thankfully, there have been no injuries reported as a result of the incident.

Recovery was arranged for three of the vehicles and Traffic Scotland has said that all lanes are now running Eastbound at the junction with an approximate delay of 30 minutes for drivers and a 25-minute delay for those approaching from the A737.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 6.20am on Wednesday, February 1 2023, officers were called to reports of a four-vehicle crash on the M8 eastbound at junction 27.

"There were no reports of injuries and recovery was arranged for three of the vehicles."
