Tesco since has agreed to buy the stationery chain's brand, but not its shops or the workforce.

A total of 106 stores across the UK are now expected to close with hundreds of staff members likely to face redundancy.

Large yellow signs have this week been put in place in the Buchanan Street shop’s windows advertising a huge closing sale with all stock reduced.
