The team at a popular Glasgow takeaway are 'emotional' after closing due to rising costs.

We previously reported that Route 32, based in the city's East End, was closing after experiencing a quiet period amid price increases.

Now they have shared a farewell message after making the decision with a 'heavy heart'.

After selling out of stock on a busy final day of trading, the team are now selling kitchen items they no longer need.

A statement shared on Facebook said: "Today is our last day guys! We sold most of the stock today so will not be restocking. I’m not gonna lie am a bit emotional.

We do have a hot plate, double fryer, Bain Marie, panini machine, small mini oven (only used once), ninja blender (we used for milkshakes) and waffle machine.

"We have the 16oz plastic milkshake cups with domed lids and the cake cups with domed lids 12oz.

"Looking to sell most of it off if anyone is interested just drop me a PM."

Regular customers shared kind messages in response to the closure.

One person wrote: "I can't believe you are closing gutted for you... thanks for all the beautiful food and cakes we will miss them too... so sad but good luck to you."

Another said: "Gutted to hear this... I know how much you tried to make it work and loved serving the locals. I wish you the very best in what you do next."
