A SOUTHSIDE café has closed its doors, but the owners have promised they will be back with a "new concept".

Bosses at Ollie's Cafe, in Pollokshields, took to social media to confirm rumours that they have "closed the doors of Ollie's", which served breakfast, lunch, dinner, coffee and cake, are true.

However, they promised they will be back in the same Nithsdale Road location with a new name and concept "very soon".

They also thanked customers for their support over the last eight years.

The Facebook post read: "The rumours doing the rounds of the streets of Pollokshields are true… we have closed the doors of “Ollie’s”.

"BUT, WAIT…. This is not the end.

"The same team are going to be back VERY soon with something new.

"New name, new concept… same location.

"Stay tuned.

"P.S. thank you, to every single one of you, for the immense support over the last eight years… we hope you will be as excited for the change as we are."

Fans of the family-run bistro said it was "sad news" Ollie's had closed but they were looking forward to the new venture.

One person wrote: "Can’t wait to see what exiting new venues awaits."

Another said: "Very sad and many great memories with you. Excited to see what comes next for you. Good luck."

A third person added: "This is sad news but excited to see what is to come. One of my fav spots."
