From her successful clothing store to a new community initiative, a Glasgow mum is once again lending a hand to East End locals.

Ali Lowrie, mum of four and founder of pre-loved children's clothes store, Hoola Kids, is launching a new social group, 'Hoola Mums', next month.

The group, which will be held inside the Hoola Kids store, has been designed to give Glasgow Mums' a space to get together, chat and bond with one another.

The 39-year-old spoke further about the new initiative.

She said: "There are so many groups for families that focus on and centre around the baby.

"There's baby massage groups and game groups and things like that.

"But as a new mum, it can be a really isolating place.

"So, these get-togethers are all about Mums, it's a chance for them to have a chat, let off steam and make new friends who are in the same boat as them.

"This is their chance."

The group will launch on Friday, March 3 and will take place every Friday from 9.30am until 11.30am.

The group is free of charge and will include free beverages such as tea, coffee and juice for attendees.

Mums can bring their children and new-borns to the session, which is another reason for the initiative's formation.

The Broomhouse local said: "I don't have any little new-borns anymore, all my children are grown-up, so I think it will be lovely to meet some local little ones.

"I'm excited about that."

Ali admitted that she cannot wait to get started next month.

She added: "I'm really excited about the group and to get started.

"I hope that above all, people come.

"In the shop, I have regular people that drop in and people that come from a fair bit away.

"So, I hope that all of these people come as well as new ones.

"It's so hard to know though, but I hope people do take the opportunity to drop in and meet some friendly faces."

When it comes down to it, Ali also hopes that the new initiative will bring her closer to the local community and provide Mums with a space to support each other.

She said: "I hope this can be part of the local community and allow me to be part of it too.

"I just want to provide space for mums' to support each other and for women to build connections with one another.

"I remember meeting other Mums' through baby groups I went to, and these people are still my friends seven and eight years on.

"I had that opportunity only because there was something there for me and I just want to do the same."
