A popular celebration of all things nautical is set to return this summer.
The Kirkintilloch Canal Festival will be back with live music, fireworks, family fun and boat trips, from 5pm to 10pm on Saturday August 26, at Southbank Marina and from 12pm to 5pm on Sunday, August 27, at the Marina, Townhead, Cowgate and Barleybank.
Organised by East Dunbartonshire Council, the two-day event attracts tens of thousands of people every year.

Councillor Gordan Low, leader of East Dunbartonshire Council, said: "I'm pleased to be able to confirm the return of the Kirkintilloch Canal Festival. We're working hard to ensure it once again offers a mix of entertainment for people of all ages from East Dunbartonshire and beyond.
"We're conscious that many families are facing unprecedented financial challenges at the moment so will be doing all we can to offer as many free activities as possible.
"The festival gives residents and visitors the chance to get active and have fun, whilst also attracting more people to the area – boosting the local economy. Look out for more news soon."
