The Admiral Bar will return after announcing a site redevelopment had displaced the popular pub.

The pub was based on Waterloo Street for 60 years but was forced to vacate as a development company will be turning the building into an office block.

Now, owners have shared with the Glasgow Times that they will be taking over The Woods Bar, just 2 minutes away on the same street.

The Admiral Woods will be the reincarnation of both watering holes.

Dave Ross, one of the three owners of The Admiral, and his daughter Siobhan Ross, the current general manager, will be business partners in the new venture.

The pub will have the "same staff, same menu, and same chefs" and is set to open on Friday, March 17.

Siobhan said: "I will be managing it day to day along with our current management at the Admiral who are coming along to the new venue with us.

"We’re looking forward to welcoming back our customers on Friday, March 17 to the new premises and hope to see some familiar faces in for their macaroni fix in the weeks ahead."
