A popular Glasgow restaurant takeaway has announced that they are no longer able to serve dinner due to 'high costs'.

Sprigg, known for its fresh salads and create-your-own bowls, launched their dinner concept in October 2022 via Deliveroo for customers to have a dinner choice until 9pm.

But after several months of serving both lunch and dinner, the team have announced that they will be ending their dinner service with immediate effect.

They explained that high costs and lack of resources contributed to the decision, but they will keep an open mind to resuming dinner service in the future.

A statement read: "We’re really sorry to announce that we’ve ended our dinner project with immediate effect.

"It needed more time however in the face of such high costs we’ve assessed that we don’t have the resources to give it the backing it needs and deserves to grow to full potential.

"As for so many, we entered 2023 full of uncertainty over our running costs and we therefore took some hard decisions, quickly.

"The heart said continue, the head said refocus. So we’re doubling down on our core lunch business to ensure our busy shops are at their best.

"For all our dinner regulars, thank you so much for the support and we’re sorry to disappoint you.

"Maybe one day we’ll dust off the dinner archives but until then, it’s lunch as you know and love it."
